Chirantan “CJ” Desai, President & CEO
Chirantan “CJ” Desai is the President and Chief Executive Officer of MongoDB, also serving on the company’s Board of Directors. Under his leadership, MongoDB is advancing its position as the default modern database platform powering AI, cloud, and real-time applications.
CJ brings more than 25 years of experience leading global product and engineering organizations across cloud infrastructure, enterprise software, and cybersecurity. Through his experiences, he’s developed a deep understanding of growth at scale for both technology innovation and GTM execution. Before joining MongoDB, he served as President of Product and Engineering at Cloudflare and as President and Chief Operating Officer at ServiceNow, where he helped grow revenue organically from $1.5 billion to more than $10 billion. CJ previously held senior roles at EMC and Symantec and started his technology career at Oracle. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Cribl.
CJ earned a Master’s in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.

Mike Berry, Chief Financial Officer
Mike is the Chief Financial Officer of MongoDB. He brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, operations, and general management across the technology industry. Mike oversees MongoDB’s global finance organization, including financial strategy, planning and analysis, accounting, and investor relations. Prior to MongoDB, Mike has served as a CFO at seven companies including NetApp, McAfee, FireEye, Informatica, IO (now Iron Mountain), SolarWinds, and i2 Technologies. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Augsburg College and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He also serves on the board of directors for Rapid7 and Calix.

Jim Scharf, Chief Technology Officer
Jim is the Chief Technology Officer of MongoDB. He leads the company’s Product & Technology organization, driving product development and engineering strategy for MongoDB’s products and services. Jim comes to MongoDB with over 17 years of experience at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As one of AWS’s first employees, he was the founding owner of six services, served as General Manager of the Amazon DynamoDB and AWS Identity businesses, and was most recently Vice President of AWS Identity. While there, Jim was an author on 20 foundational U.S. patents in the area of cloud computing. Previously, he worked in numerous software engineering and technology consulting roles. He holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Rutgers University.
Paul Capombassis, Chief Revenue Officer
Paul Capombassis is the Chief Revenue Officer of MongoDB. Paul joined MongoDB in 2017 to lead its North America business and has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth journey, having achieved over 13x revenue growth in the region. Over his tenure, Paul’s role has expanded to include broader responsibilities, covering EMEA, Sales Development, Inside Sales & Enablement. He is deeply committed to nurturing internal talent, and nearly 90% of his leadership team comprises of individuals promoted under his guidance, showcasing his ability to nurture and develop his teams. Paul has a long-standing history of achieving significant growth and fostering innovation, and before joining MongoDB, he held leadership roles at prestigious companies such as Splunk, BMC, and AppDynamics. He holds a B.A. in History from Bishop’s University.

Erica Volini, Chief Customer Officer
Erica Volini is the Chief Customer Officer at MongoDB. Under Erica’s leadership, MongoDB is integrating its technical, partner, and services teams into a unified engine to accelerate growth and ensure the company becomes the default data platform for the AI era. She previously served as EVP of Industries, Partners, and Go-to-Market at ServiceNow and held senior leadership roles at Deloitte Consulting. At ServiceNow, she architected the partner-led model, which was a primary driver of the company's growth from $5B to over $10B in revenue. During her two decades at Deloitte, she led the $2B global Human Capital business and served on Deloitte Consulting’s Board of Directors. Erica has been recognized as a CRN Top 50 Channel Chief and an HR Tech Top 100 Influencer. She holds a B.S. from Cornell University.

May Petry, Chief Marketing Officer
May Petry is the Chief Marketing Officer at MongoDB, leading global marketing to drive revenue, expand market leadership, and position MongoDB as a leading unified database platform built to power the next generation of applications. Since joining in 2022, she's significantly influenced customer engagement by scaling its self-serve business, establishing global revenue marketing, and strengthening execution across digital, product-led, and enterprise sales motions.
With over 25 years of experience at high-growth tech companies—including Pure Storage, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Yahoo!, and Sun Microsystems—May brings deep expertise in digital marketing, demand generation, and corporate communications. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, developing future leaders, and crafting narratives that link customer value to business outcomes. May is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum - Silicon Valley and holds a B.A. in English from Loyola University Chicago.

Deepa Gopinath, Chief Information Officer
Deepa Gopinath is the Chief Information Officer at MongoDB, where she leads the company’s global IT organization. In her role, Deepa is driving the modernization of internal systems to enhance customer and employee experiences, accelerating productivity through AI and automation, and simplifying workflows to deliver meaningful business outcomes. With over 25 years of experience, Deepa is known for leveraging AI, automation, and data intelligence to scale operations and fuel innovation. Prior to MongoDB, she served as SVP & Deputy CIO at Databricks, where she transformed IT into a strategic, product-led organization and led digital initiatives across AI, go-to-market, and enterprise platforms. She has also held senior leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks, where she led a cloud-first digital transformation, as well as at Intel McAfee and Cisco Systems. Deepa holds an MBA from Arizona State University and a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.

Harsha Jalihal, Chief People Officer
Harsha Jalihal is the Chief People Officer of MongoDB. Under her leadership, MongoDB has more than doubled its workforce across dozens of countries and was recognized as a Most-Loved Workplace by Newsweek’s Excellence Index 2024. Previously Harsha was Vice President of HR at Unilever, where she was responsible for end-to-end HR strategy and operations for their U.S. business, co-created Unilever’s future of work strategy, and worked on a part-time secondment to the World Economic Forum where she contributed to their thought leadership on the future of work. Prior to this, she spent 10 years at Cognizant in various HR and business roles, laying the early foundations of their talent acquisition, talent management, reward management, M&A and employee relations practices. Harsha was recognized as Crain's New York Notable Women of Talent for 2020.
Andrew Stephens, General Counsel
Andrew is the General Counsel of MongoDB. Since 2013, he has shepherded the company through major go-to-market and commercial transformations, multiple acquisitions, and a successful IPO. Andrew is one of the longest serving leaders at MongoDB and has helped lead the Company through its rapid evolution from startup to member of the NASDAQ 100. Prior to MongoDB, Andrew was the Managing Counsel at LinkedIn where he focused on technology transactions, strategic partnerships, and revenue generating contracts. He was LinkedIn’s second lawyer hired and guided the company through its hyper-growth phase and IPO. Earlier, Andrew served as Assistant General Counsel at Logitech, where he joined after advising the company as outside counsel while working at Wilson Sonsini. Andrew started his legal career at Lawson Lundell in Vancouver, Canada after receiving his L.L.B. from Dalhousie University. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
